Delaware Electric Cooperative believes in sustainability – not just for our electrical system, but for the people it serves as well. As an organization, we want to help develop the future leaders within our membership for the betterment of the communities we power. One way we do this is through promoting the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Education Scholarship.

Each year, the VMDAEC Educational Foundation sponsors $1,000 scholarships to high school and homeschool seniors planning on attending their first semester at a college or university in the fall. Applicants must be served by a participating electric Co-op, and applications are selected based on students’ financial need, academic achievement and their personal statement. If selected, students can use their scholarship funds to cover a variety of their educational expenses, including tuition, student fees, room and board, or textbooks. For full details on the application process and submission requirements, visit https://vmdaec.com/scholarship/. The online application opens on Thursday, February 1 and will close on Monday, April 1.
